Into Ireland: From Wicklow to the Wild Atlantic Way

Sometimes we need our vacations to take us back down to earth. Luxury becomes the chance to enjoy nature at our own pace, to appreciate a view that’s not been photographed by millions before us. We crave authentic experiences, and this is where Ireland comes in. Continue reading “Into Ireland: From Wicklow to the Wild Atlantic Way”

Award Nomination

Most Admired Travel Advisor

Posted by: Annie Ewing

I’m so pleased to announce (because Cindy is too modest to do so herself) that she was nominated for the Most Admired Travel Advisor Award at Virtuoso Travel Week! Travel Week is one of the  largest and most important luxury travel trade shows in the world. For six days, over 5000 advisors, hoteliers, tour operators, airlines, cruise lines, and tourism boards from across the globe meet to create connections, learn, and share the best of the industry’s offerings. The final night sees a gala dinner and award ceremony. Cindy was nominated out of thousands of travel advisors from around the world.

She was nominated by several of her industry partners, the people she works with to create exceptional experiences for her clients. It is a mark of the relationship she holds with them. When Cindy designs your trip, you can be confident that her partners will treat you with the utmost care and warmth.

We’re so proud of her!

A huge congratulations to her fellow nominees (Andrew Grove, Ilana Valo, David Lowey, and Lina Pagliarulo), and to David for his win.

South Africa Travel Guide: The world’s most romantic country

Post by: Annie Ewing

I’d heard South Africa was incredible, but I didn’t expect to fall so deeply in love. Forget Italy or France – welcome to the new most romantic country on the planet.

Although I travelled with friends, our itinerary would have made the ideal honeymoon. It was the perfect mix of organised touring, private relaxation time, culture, and adventure.Continue reading “South Africa Travel Guide: The world’s most romantic country”

Taking Flight in the Alps

Virtu World Travel goes to new heights to find fabulous adventures for our clients

In October 2015, Cindy travelled to Switzerland for Private Leisure Forum, an experiential/luxury travel trade show. This brought together travel agents, unique hotels and creative tour operators from around the world, but with a particular focus on Europe. The show allowed agents like Cindy to discover the latest and greatest of what is available for her clients. It was also an opportunity to create new connections and strengthen old ones during incredible networking activities.

The show was held in Interlaken (which means “between lakes”), a resort town nestled at the base of the Swiss Alps and an hour from Gstaad.

As Cindy discovered, there’s only one way to explore the town:

Paragliding6

Agents, hoteliers, and tour operators alike got the chance to soar above Interlaken by paraglider. Cindy’s other experience tip for the region: Take a short train ride or drive to check out Trummelbach Falls, an incredible underground waterfall tumbling down through caves and crevasses inside the mountain.

Private Leisure Forum has invited Cindy back as a VIP agent to attend two trade shows in 2016 – one in Istanbul and one in California.

Bold Brazil: From Rio to the Rainforest

Brazil is a land so large it almost defies description. How to summarize a place that is home  to both some of the world’s largest cities and purest, wildest jungles? How do you explain a culture that varies hugely from region to region, neighbourhood to neighbourhood? Or the food so fresh you could die and go to heaven, and the views so spectacular that taking a picture seems somehow unworthy… Continue reading “Bold Brazil: From Rio to the Rainforest”

A Journey to the Heart of Umbria, Italy

Italy’s Hidden Gem

Post by: Annie Ewing

When people think of the Italian countryside, Tuscany is often the first region that comes to mind.

Well-informed travellers, however, are now heading to Umbria, Tuscany’s up-and-coming next door neighbour.
The landscape is wilder, the towns less touristy, the wine and food scenes are world class, the culture is rich and authentic. What’s not to love? Continue reading “A Journey to the Heart of Umbria, Italy”
