Spring

Fogo Island, Newfoundland, Canada

Said to be one of the Four Corners of the Earth, this wild and craggy isle is home to icebergs, a stunning five star luxury hotel, and some of the friendliest people in Canada. The views are spectacular, but it’s the local culture that makes this such a special spot. Go on a marine adventure with local fishermen to catch some cod (and wait ’til you try the seafood offerings at the hotel’s restaurant, caught daily!). Participate in an art workshop to capture the beauty around you. Watch in awe as a parade of icebergs drifts by. At the end of the day, curl up by the fire and be entertained by a local story teller.

Best time to go: April – June for iceberg spotting

Rome, Italy

Rome is a bustling metropolis, but it’s also home to acres of idyllic gardens and quiet parkland. Woven throughout its narrow streets, you’ll find hidden restaurants and boutiques to fulfill all your Italian dreams. With some of the most elegant hotels in Europe, Rome becomes your paradise away from home. Explore the ancient Appian Way road, then peak into a small church to glimpse a Michelangelo statue. Take in a mouthwatering aperitivo before enjoying a late dinner in one of the many Michelin-starred restaurants. Relax. Repeat.

Best time to go: April-May before the heat and crowds of summer

Bryce Canyon, Utah and Antelope Canyon, Arizona, USA

The Grand Canyon gets all the press, but the American West is full of other treasures.  Some of the most spectacular geological formations in the country are found in southern Utah and northern Arizona. In Bryce Canyon, trek through the vibrant orange and green landscape, far away from harried crowds. Antelope Canyon is a fire-toned crevice, just wide enough to let small groups through under the guidance of an expert Navajo leader. Both locations are a treat for the senses.

Best time to go: May-June to see the ethereal rays of sunlight in Antelope Canyon
